I cut these Gardenias from my our front yard today. I love the smell of Gardenias and have fond memories of my father buying Gardenias for my mother. She would wear them in her hair like Diana Ross did in the movie "Lady Sings The Blues." I loved that movie. I know almost every line and every song. Diana Ross WAS Billie Holiday.
Recently I heard a radio commentator say what a horrible movie "Lady Sings The Blues" had been. I couldn't believe it! Excuse me, Diana Ross was nominated for an Oscar! That reminds me of a time I met a person that didn't like "I Love Lucy." "Huh?!? How can you not like Lucy? Everybody loves Lucy! What's wrong with you!" There was no way I could continue a conversation with this person let alone a friendship.
